Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council once again held a very successful Christmas Carol evening last Thursday on Jubilee Gardens. Hundreds of residents turned up to welcome Father Christmas who paraded down with children from the Library. The Kingfisher Scout Band provided music whilst residents made last minute present buys and supported lots of charity stalls as well as singing Christmas Carols accompanied by Wealden Brass Band. Delicious food was provided by Graham of the British Queen and the Triangle Cafe. The Parish Council provided mulled wine and mince pies. A great night was had by all. Chairman of the Council John Pritchett BEM said ‘Once again the wonderful community spirit that we have in Willingdon was on display tonight and I would like to thank everyone who took part to make the evening such a great success and raise money for local charities’.
